SCR is a database monthly updated by financial institutions, through the gathering of information about the operations closed. SCR stores the data about closed operations by all financial institutions, allowing Central Bank to adopt preventive measures towards the protection of the citizens’ funds trusted to the institutions participants in the system. The other objective of SCR is to help financial institutions in the management of their credit portfolios.

SCR database can be consulted by the financial institutions participants in the system, by the credit operations borrowers in the terms established by the above mentioned Resolution and by the Central Bank. In case of financial institutions it is necessary to obtain the due authorization of the customer for consulting the information of SCR system and provide an exchange of information, among financial institutions, about the amount of debts under the customers’ responsibility in credit operations.

The individuals and legal entities can perform their register in Central Bank in order to have free access, via Internet, to the data provided on their behalf by the financial institutions. Further information about the procedures to be followed can be consulted at Brazilian Central Bank website.

The judicial orders for exclusion of information from the data base are inserted into the system through specific transaction. Whenever Banco Sumitomo Mitsui Brasileiro S.A. receives the judicial order, such exclusion must be performed.

In case the judge decides in the maintenance of the customer’s debt in the system, with the remark that the operation is under judicial lawsuit, SCR innovates, allowing the flag of operations as “under judgment”.
