Banco Sumitomo Mitsui Brasileiro´s 50th Anniversary celebration was held on October 13th, 2008, at Casa Fasano in São Paulo. With 400 illustrious guests, the event had the honorable attendance of Mr. Masayuki Oku, President & CEO of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) , in his first visit to Brazil.
In the opening speech , Mr. Oku said incentive and recognition words to BSMB, one of the oldest branches among the 31 countries where SMBC works globally. Mr. Oku also mentioned SMBC´ s slogan “Lead the value”, emphasizing the importance of customer’s service and relationship.
After Mr. Oku´s speech, Mr. Toshiro Kubota, President BSMB, expressed the satisfaction to celebrate BSMB´ s 50th Anniversary and 100th Anniversary of Japanese Immigration to Brazil jointly.
His Excellence Mr. Masuo Nishibayashi, General Consul of Japan in São Paulo, congratulated BSMB for the occasion and His Excellence Mr. Rinaldo Campos Soares, Honorable Consul of Japan in Belo Horizonte, concluded the ceremony with a toast in honor of BSMB.
